Don Bosco ITI campus witnessed another meeting of some of the enthusiastic past pupils. In the first meeting (Christmas gathering) of the past pupils held on 15th December 2024, it was decided to have another meeting on 19th January. As per the decision all in the group were communicated about the same. Though not in big numbers, quite a good number turned up for the meeting. Many of those who came in the first meeting could not come due to one reason or another.
We had begun the meeting at 3.00 pm in the assembly hall. Br. Tom welcomed all and gave and briefed the group the purpose and advantages of the meeting. After that all Each one gave an introduction. It was touching to hear that some felt so much attached to the institute as they had learned a lot during the training period. There was a fun game in between as an energizer. Several suggestions were put forward regarding the next meeting and the frequency of the same. Br. Tom proposed to go slow as the numbers in the first two meetings were not so encouraging. However, we need to move on with optimism and make all efforts to increase the numbers and to make the meetings more interesting and beneficial.
Some volunteers came forward to form a core group which would plan out the details for the next meeting which is planned to have on 9th March 2025. The members of the core group are; John P Kujur, James Nayan Toppo, Sushil Kujur, Kuldeep Surin, Sonu Kumar Sharma and Nipun Praveen Kujur. The final common opinion was that to have the meeting twice a year other than the Christmas gathering. The meetings will be on the 2nd Sunday of March and on 2nd October every year. In case any changes are required, the same will be discussed and decided in the upcoming meetings.
Everyone was happy to see the transformation taking place at Don Bosco ITI; the cleanliness, infrastructure development, the quality of the staff, etc. There was a photo session followed by tea and snacks after which all departed by around 5.15 pm.
