Don Bosco Career Guidance and Job Placement Services, Ranchi, hosted an HR Summit at Don Bosco Private ITI, Ranchi, on December 14, 2024. The event began with a warm welcome address by Rev. Br. Rev. Br. C J Tom SDB, Principal, highlighting the various services and activities offered by Don Bosco Private ITI and the Don Bosco Job Placement Network. He also shared the institute’s vision and mission, emphasizing their commitment to skill development and career guidance.

The summit witnessed the participation of 12 recruiters representing eight prominent companies. Rev. Br. CJ Tom SDB facilitated a discussion on innovative recruitment strategies, encouraging participants to explore fresh approaches to hiring and workforce development. The attendees actively contributed to the conversation, presenting creative ideas for enhancing the recruitment process. They also shared their experiences and insights into effective hiring practices. The gathering expressed their appreciation for the candidates placed through Don Bosco Job Placement Network, particularly acknowledging their retention and performance. The collaborative exchange of ideas and strategies created a dynamic and engaging environment.

Mr Pradeep Karmali from Employability Bridge said that the candidates are not willing to migrate and adapt to new environments and it is a draw back especially with the tribal candidates. Mr. Himanshu commented that soft skills are to be given importance. He also said that sharing of experience by those in the field will do good for the trainees in the institute. Mr. Randeep from service industry said that the candidates who come for interview have very poor communication skill. Some of them are addicted to gutka and Khaini and so on. They are also not willing to take up challenges. Mr Praful Purti and Mr. Sunil representing Government ITIs remarked that the candidates who come for training have average IQ only but they are willing to work hard. Multi skilling of the trainees is another point that came up. It was also pointed out that the trainees should know the company details before they go for interview. During the discussion it was pointed out that this type of meetings should be held oftener for mutual benefits.

Mr. Marcus Minj, Active Placement Coordinator, played the role of Pannel discussion & the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions. Rev. Bro. Ignatius Kerketta SDB Vice Principal shared his overall past experiences in Don Bosco. The program concluded with a networking session over high tea, leaving attendees inspired and motivated to implement the innovative ideas discussed.
