14 Aug 2026-Tiranga in every Home

Don Bosco Pvt. ITI celebrated Pre-Independence Day on 14th August with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. On the occasion, Prabhat Surin delivered a thoughtful and inspiring speech.

Respected Principal, dear teachers and staff members, and my dear friends,

As we gather today on the eve of our Independence Day, our hearts are filled with gratitude, pride and hope. On 15th August, we will once again celebrate the freedom that our country achieved through the sacrifices, struggles and dreams of countless freedom fighters. Independence Day is not merely a national holiday; it is a reminder that the freedom we enjoy today carries with it a responsibility to build a stronger, more united and more prosperous India.

This year, as we participate in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, let us remember that the Tiranga is much more than a piece of cloth. It is a symbol of our identity, our unity, our sacrifices and our aspirations. The campaign encourages every citizen to bring the national flag into their homes and to develop a personal connection with the nation. Therefore, I encourage everyone of you and every member of our Don Bosco family: let there be a Tiranga in every home. Let the flag fly with dignity and honour. Let our homes, our campus and our hearts be filled with the spirit of the Tiranga.

India on the path of progress

My dear friendss, when we look at India today, we have many reasons to feel proud.

India has made remarkable progress in science and space technology. Our space program is no longer confined to government institutions. India now has a rapidly growing private space ecosystem, with more than 400 space start-ups involved in launch vehicles, satellites, propulsion, electronics and other technologies. We have also witnessed tremendous progress in digital technology. Digital India has transformed the way people access services, make payments, conduct business and communicate.

In renewable energy and green technology, too, India is moving forward. Solar energy, green hydrogen, electric mobility and other clean technologies are creating new possibilities for sustainable development. India is also strengthening its capabilities in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum technology and other emerging fields. The country's research and innovation ecosystem is expanding, with major investments being made to encourage high-technology research and deep-tech innovation.

And where do our ITI trainees fit into this New India?

This is perhaps the most important question for all of us gathered here at Don Bosco Pvt. ITI, Kokar. My dear friends, when we talk about India's development, we are not talking only about scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs or administrators. We are talking about ourselves.

The machines in our factories need skilled technicians. Solar plants need trained workers. Electric vehicles need technicians. Modern industries need electricians, fitters, machinists, welders and many other skilled professionals. Robotics, automation, manufacturing and infrastructure development all require people who possess practical skills.

Therefore, our ITI training is not simply preparation for getting a job. It is preparation for participating in nation-building. Every time you learn to operate a machine correctly, repair an electrical system safely, perform a welding job precisely, read a technical drawing, maintain equipment or solve a practical problem, you are acquiring a skill that contributes to India's progress. India needs not only job seekers. India needs skilled creators, problem-solvers, technicians, entrepreneurs and responsible citizens.

Har Ghar Tiranga – Har Dil Tiranga

Therefore, as we celebrate this Independence Day, let us make “Har Ghar Tiranga” more than a campaign. Let us make it “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Dil Tiranga.” Let the Tiranga enter every home, but more importantly, let the values of the Tiranga enter every heart. Let the saffron inspire us to have courage and sacrifice. Let the white inspire us to live in peace and honesty. Let the green inspire us to work for growth and prosperity. And let the Ashoka Chakra remind us that we must never stop moving forward

You belong to a generation that has extraordinary opportunities before it. You have access to technology, education, skill training and information that previous generations could only dream of. Use these opportunities wisely. Remain disciplined. Respect your dignity and the dignity of others. Let us dream of an India that is technologically advanced but also compassionate; economically strong but also inclusive; powerful but peaceful; modern but rooted in its values.

As we approach the 80th Independence Day of our nation, let us make a commitment: We will learn. We will work. We will remain honest. We will respect one another. We will develop our skills. And we will contribute to the building of a stronger India.

Let the Tiranga fly proudly from every home. Let it fly over every village and city. Let it fly over every institution and workplace. And above all, let the spirit of the Tiranga live in every Indian heart. May our beloved India continue to rise, progress and prosper.

Jai Hind! Vande Mataram!
