“It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air”. This is what a group of past pupils of Don Bosco ITI, Kokar felt and so they came together for some fun, sharing and caring. It was 15th December at 3.00 pm about twenty alumni of Don Bosco ITI met together in the campus to know each other and to keep themselves united.
At the outset Mrs. Pratima who did her COPA in 2011, welcomed everyone and gave a briefing on the procedure of the day. Br. Tom, the principal of the institute was invited to give an introduction. He briefly explained the purpose of forming an association of past pupils mentioning that the moto of the past pupils was to know, love, help one another and keep united. He also explained that the Salesians are there to assist and guide but the association must function by itself by appointing the office holders and having frequent meetings.
Fr. Babu, the rector of Don Bosco Campus, shared his own experience with the past pupils in different institutions. He said that all those present are members of an association with huge numbers all over the world. He also told them not to think of what they could get but what they could give. He wished everyone a fruitful beginning.
Ravikant gave a message on the occasion citing the example of his own experience as he is dealing with those who are jailed in Khunti. He meets them and council them. He said that as we are approaching Christmas, we all need to be generous and have a feeling for the needy and poor people modeling ourselves on Jesus who came to save all of us.
John P Kujur who is at the helm at the moment to get the meeting organized, said that we all need to think positively and contribute for the smooth running of the association. Bikrant said that those who are well placed must share their expertise with others. It is good that they meet the present students and given them some inputs which would help them to perform better when they take up jobs. Manoj Kumar Yadav said that he has good connection with those who are working in the Gulf and he could see to the possibility of placing those who are interested.
Pratima thanked everyone for being presenting and for contributing positively in the discussions and sharing. A group photo was taken just in front of the building followed by tea and snacks for all. At 4.45 pm all departed on a positive note and promising to bring more of their friends for the next meeting which will be held on 19th January 2025.
