It is significant that every training year begins with an orientation program for the trainees. Such a program helps them begin the year with the right attitude, enthusiasm, and motivation. Besides the regular training sessions in classrooms and laboratories, the year also includes various activities, competitions, and tournaments that contribute to their overall development.
Keeping these aspects in mind, an orientation program was organized for the trainees of Don Bosco Pvt. ITI on 22nd and 23rd September 2026. The resource person for the program was Fr. Ashok Kujur, Director of Don Bosco Technical Institute, Lucknow. With many years of experience in working with young people, Fr. Ashok has guided and motivated youth through seminars, interactive sessions, and various developmental activities.
The orientation program began with a prayer song seeking God’s guidance and assistance for the trainees as they embarked on their training journey and future careers. Before the session began, the Principal introduced the resource person, who was warmly welcomed with a thunderous round of applause.
During the sessions, Fr. Ashok emphasized that our body, mind, heart, and soul are our lifelong companions, and therefore, we must take proper care of all these dimensions of our lives in order to lead a healthy and meaningful life. He encouraged the trainees to develop a good listening attitude; to accept what contributes positively to their lives and to reject anything that prevents them from moving in the right direction. He also reminded them that we come into this world alone and, ultimately, we must make our own journey through life. The sessions were made lively and engaging through action songs, stories, and other interactive activities, which helped the trainees, absorb the messages more effectively.
A major part of the orientation focused on the various negative influences and habits that young people need to avoid. Fr. Ashok cautioned the trainees against the excessive use of mobile phones, addiction to social media and online games, gambling, unnecessary online shopping, and constantly following negative news. He also highlighted the dangers of rash driving, pornography, and drug abuse. He advised the trainees to be careful about relationships and dating, reminding them that there is a proper time for everything. At this stage of their lives, he encouraged them to concentrate on their training, prepare themselves for a secure future, and learn to live responsibly and meaningfully.
Another important message was the value of hard work and goal-setting. We all desire to achieve and possess many things in life, but meaningful achievements require sincere effort and perseverance. Results that are earned through hard work are valued not only by us but also by others. Fr. Ashok stressed that having clear goals is essential in life; without goals, a person can easily become confused or lose direction.
We were particularly impressed by Fr. Ashok’s passion and enthusiasm for the subjects he discussed. He maintained the attention of the trainees through interesting stories, real-life incidents, and practical examples. His presentation was lively and engaging, and we remained attentive throughout the sessions. He encouraged us to “think out of the box,” meaning that we should learn to think differently, be creative, and adapt ourselves to different situations. He also advised us not to become slaves to people or circumstances but to develop the confidence and wisdom to make responsible decisions.
Fr. Ashok also encouraged us by reminding us that choosing ITI training was a positive step towards building our careers. Technical training can provide valuable skills and opportunities for employment and help young people become self-reliant.
We were deeply impressed not only by the valuable inputs shared by Fr. Ashok but also by the way in which he presented them. The orientation program was personally enriching and beneficial to both of us, and we believe that the other trainees who attended the program also received valuable lessons and inspiration from it.
We sincerely wish and pray that God may bless Fr. Ashok Kujur and strengthen him to continue his good work of guiding, inspiring, and empowering thousands of young people.
