24 Nov 2025-Orientation on personal growth

Orientation on personal growth

In life and in the workplace, technical skills are important, but who you are as a person matters even more. Confidence, respect, empathy, and a sense of dignity are the foundations of every successful career and happy life. The trainees of Don Bosco Pvt. ITI, Kokar, Ranchi, had the privilege of attending a Life Orientation Program on 24 November 2025. The session was animated by Fr. Deepak Kindo, an experienced and dynamic resource person. His engaging style made the program lively, inspiring, and deeply motivating for all participants.

The session focused on essential aspects of personal growth, inviting trainees to reflect on questions such as: Who am I? How am I? What do I desire? Why am I here? How am I unique? It also highlighted the importance of respecting oneself and others, and valuing every individual encountered in life.

Self-love is not selfishness—it is the ability to recognize your own worth. When you accept yourself, care for your well-being, and believe in your potential, you become stronger, more motivated, and more resilient. We will learn how to appreciate our strengths, manage our weaknesses, and build a healthy self-image.

Respect is the glue that holds any community together. Whether at home, in society, or at the workplace, respecting others—regardless of background, skill level, or differences—creates harmony and trust. We will discuss communication, empathy, teamwork, and the importance of treating others the way we wish to be treated.

Every life has meaning, including yours. Understanding the value of life helps us make better choices, cherish relationships, protect our mental and physical health, and support those around us. When we value life, we avoid destructive habits and focus on what truly builds us up.

The program proved to be highly enriching. It reminded the trainees that everyone faces struggles, though they differ from person to person. What matters is the courage to face these challenges and rise above them. With a positive attitude, one can move forward with hope and confidence. The resource person emphasized the need to love oneself, respect others, learn from failures, and view them as experiences that strengthen one’s journey.

As young people preparing for a profession, you are also preparing for life. These values will help you all: Build confidence in your abilities, work respectfully and cooperatively, avoid conflicts and misunderstandings, stay motivated in difficult time, Appreciate your own and others’ dignity.

Towards the end, the trainees were divided into groups for sharing and evaluation. Many expressed that it was their first time attending such a meaningful and reflective session, and they found it truly beneficial.
