In every training institute or college, it is customary for the junior students to bid farewell to their outgoing seniors. It is also a special occasion when the graduating trainees express their gratitude to the institution, staff, and fellow students for the support and guidance they have received during their period of study. Such a memorable and emotional day was witnessed at Don Bosco Pvt. ITI, Kokar, Ranchi, when the first-year trainees organized a heartfelt farewell program for the outgoing trainees under the guidance of Mr. Mridul Horo and Ms. Pratibha Kumari, who meticulously planned and coordinated the event.
On 19th June at 9:30 a.m., all the trainees assembled in the institute hall for the farewell program. The occasion was also set apart to honour the outstanding performers of the institute in academics, attendance, sports, games, and various competitions. Fr. Babu Varghese, Rector of Don Bosco Kokar, graced the function as the Chief Guest. The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by an inspiring motivational address by Fr. Rector, who encouraged both staff and trainees to strive for excellence and greater achievements in the future.
Prabhat delivered the farewell speech on behalf of the first-year trainees. He sincerely thanked the outgoing trainees for their positive attitude, leadership, and valuable contributions to the institute during their training period. This was followed by a touching farewell song presented by the first-year trainees. In response, the outgoing trainees sang a song of gratitude, expressing their appreciation for all that they had received from the institute over the past two years.
Fr. Rector then felicitated the best performers from each trade and honoured seven trainees who had maintained 100% attendance throughout the academic year. Br. Ignatius, the Vice Principal, presented medals and certificates to the winners and runners-up of football, volleyball, and cricket tournaments. Br. Tom, the Principal, awarded shields and certificates to the winners and runners-up of various competitions, including quiz, speech, debate, shot put, javelin throw, discus throw, carrom, and chess. Blue House emerged as the overall champion, securing the highest number of points, followed by Yellow House. The coveted title of Best Trainee of the Institute was awarded to Neha Lakra.
The cultural program added colour and vibrancy to the occasion with a series of lively and entertaining dance performances. Towards the end of the program, five outstanding trainees—Prashant Kujur, Ankit Beck, Praveen Tirkey, Abhishek Xalxo, and Neha Lakra—were specially recognized for their exemplary attitude, leadership qualities, motivation, and exceptional performance throughout their training period.
In his concluding address, the Principal offered valuable advice to the outgoing trainees, emphasizing the importance of discipline, punctuality, hard work, commitment, and integrity in their personal and professional lives. Abhishek Toppo proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the program. A video presentation showcasing memorable events and light-hearted moments from the trainees’ journey at the institute brought back many cherished memories and added an emotional touch to the celebration.
Following the program in the hall, the trainees gathered on the playground for a few moments of joyful dancing and fellowship. The celebrations concluded with a sumptuous lunch shared by all before they departed for their homes.
