Don Bosco Mini Job Fair: A Gateway to Professional Opportunities
Don Bosco Career Guidance, Training & Job Placement Services, Ranchi, successfully organized a Mini Job Fair on September 10, 2025. Held in collaboration with a renowned technical college in Kokar, Ranchi, the event aimed to create employment pathways for young, skilled trainees. The fair's primary partner was Tata Motors, Jamshedpur, one of India's leading automotive companies, which sought to recruit new talent.
The event was a testament to the strong leadership and collaborative spirit of the institution. Under the guidance of Rev. Bro. Tom SDB, Principal; Rev. Fr. Jerom SDB, Vice Principal; Rev. Bro. Ignatius; and Mr. Marcus Minj, JPN Coordinator, the fair proceeded smoothly. Their efforts were supported by dedicated training staff and eight volunteers from the Electrician and Fitter trades.
The recruitment drive was led by Mr. Rohit Sinha, HR, Tata Motors, who served as the resource person for the selection process. The event also received support from several institutions, including Government Technical Colleges from Simdega, Lohardaga, Kuru, and Gumla, as well as Don Bosco Pvt. Technical College Kuarmunda, Odisha.
A total of 130 job seekers participated in the fair. Following the Job Placement Network (JPN) Standard Operating Procedures, the recruitment process was systematic and transparent, including registration, counseling, briefing, and interview sessions. Out of the total participants, an impressive 115 candidates were shortlisted for the medical examination phase. The fair was committed to inclusivity, providing equal opportunities to both male and female candidates. Furthermore, the entire process was conducted completely free of cost.
The event kicked off at 9:00 AM with candidate registration. After initial counseling and preparatory instructions, Mr. Rohit Sinha was welcomed by Mr. Marcus Minj, and the interviews commenced. The selection process continued seamlessly until its completion, concluding at 3:00 PM with a vote of thanks and a group photograph with the selected candidates.
