Organizing picnics for staff is a meaningful way of expressing appreciation for their dedication and hard work. Such initiatives reinforce the message that employees are valued not merely as contributors to institutional goals, but as individuals who matter. Staff outings foster loyalty and strengthen retention by nurturing a sense of belonging and mutual respect. They also provide a much-needed break from routine schedules, enabling staff members to return refreshed and better equipped to enhance the quality of their engagement with students and subjects. Group activities and shared moments of relaxation naturally promote joy, unity, and collaboration.
With these objectives in mind, a picnic was organized for the staff of Don Bosco ITI on 28th February 2026. The staff members were informed two weeks in advance, and everyone enthusiastically looked forward to the event. It was collectively decided that meals would be prepared at the picnic spot itself, and necessary arrangements were made well ahead of time. Mr. Nipun and Mrs. Sudha took the lead in coordinating the preparations. All purchases were completed on 27th February, and every detail was carefully arranged prior to departure.
At 9:00 AM, the picnic bus set out for Jona Falls, located approximately one and a half hours from Kokar. Before the journey began, Mrs. Sudha led a short prayer, seeking God’s protection for safe travel and a joyful day ahead. Upon reaching the destination, a suitable spot was selected for cooking, and the team responsible for meal preparation immediately got to work. Meanwhile, light refreshments arranged by some staff members were shared and enjoyed by all.
Several staff members explored the scenic surroundings in small groups, taking in the natural beauty of the forest and enjoying moments of relaxation and camaraderie. By 12:45 PM, lunch was ready to be served. Mrs. Saroj led the group in prayer before the meal, thanking God for His blessings and appreciating the efforts of those who had prepared the food. The delicious meal was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
After lunch, all staff members extended a helping hand in cleaning up and loading the utensils and cooking equipment back onto the bus. Before departing, a group photograph was taken in front of the bus to capture the memorable moments of the day. The return journey began at 3:10 PM, and the group safely reached the institute at 4:20 PM.
The picnic proved to be a truly delightful and rejuvenating experience for all. It strengthened team spirit, encouraged collaboration, and left everyone feeling relaxed and refreshed. The day stood as a reminder of the importance of togetherness and appreciation within the Don Bosco ITI family.
