The Annual Convention of the Don Bosco Tech Society was held at Don Bosco Skills Mission in Bangalore from 19th to 21st February 2026. The event, aptly named “Skillvention,” marked the celebration of 20 years of skill training initiatives undertaken by the organization across India. Over the years, Don Bosco Tech has made a remarkable impact by training and placing more than 4,85,000 youth in various industries. Notably, about 52% of the beneficiaries were young women, reflecting the organization’s strong commitment to empowering women through skill development.
At Don Bosco Tech Society, the mission of skilling youth goes beyond employment. The organization believes that equipping young people with industry-relevant skills, ethical values, and social awareness is a powerful step toward building a greener and more sustainable future. By fostering responsible work practices and respect for nature, trained youth are encouraged to contribute to an economy that promotes both environmental care and dignity of labour.
The three-day convention brought together over 200 participants from different parts of the country. Several industry leaders and experts shared valuable insights and proposals, opening avenues for networking, collaboration, and stronger partnerships between training institutions and industries. The sessions proved to be enriching and inspiring for all those who attended.
The convention concluded with an award presentation ceremony, where several staff members were recognized for their long years of dedicated service. In addition, a number of training centres from across India were honoured for their outstanding performance. Among them, Don Bosco ITI, Kokar, Ranchi, belonging to the Delhi Region, was recognized as the Best Training Center of the region.
The award was received by Br. Tom, Principal of the institute, along with Wakaish Alam, the State Coordinator of DB Tech Delhi Region. They received the shield and certificate on behalf of the institution. This recognition was a moment of great pride for the institute and serves as a strong motivation to continue striving for excellence in the years to come.
