Night School Children Celebrate Christmas

Christmas is a season of peace and joy, celebrated by people in various ways irrespective of religion. Schools and colleges usually mark this festival with great enthusiasm and joy. Keeping in tune with the true spirit of Christmas, the children of the Evening School at Don Bosco, Kokar, celebrated the festival with great excitement on 18th December.

The children had been preparing enthusiastically for several days through dance practices and singing sessions. On the evening of 18th December, they gathered joyfully at 5.30 p.m. for the celebration. At the outset, the program schedule was explained, as several events had been planned. The children were also briefed on the significance of Christmas and informed about the Christmas holidays, which would continue until 6th January 2026.

The program was compered by Nisha Toppo. After the opening prayer song, the children presented a lively dance performance taught by Khusboo. This was followed by a melodious Christmas carol. Fr. George then addressed the children with a meaningful Christmas message, encouraging them to remain happy, joyful, and to spread joy among others, especially during the Christmas season. The children were eager and enthusiastic to see the Christmas Papa who came around dancing with lots of sweets.

Several fun-filled games were organized for the children. Free tickets were distributed based on their attendance, and the newcomers were also given tickets so that everyone could participate. Each child won more than one prize, and after about 45 minutes of games and enjoyment, the children were visibly happy and satisfied.

The celebration concluded with refreshments. Momos were served to the children, generously sponsored by Puja, a former student of the Night School. In addition, sweet buns were distributed before the children returned home cheerfully, bringing the joyful celebration to a pleasant close.
