Collaborative partnerships between training institutes, industries, and other skilling organizations are mutually beneficial. Such initiatives not only enhance the competencies of trainees but also prepare them to meet the evolving demands of the job market. At the same time, industries gain valuable insights into the potential and mindset of young trainees, while contributing meaningfully to their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments.
In this context, two senior officials, Mr. Suraj and Ms. Sonal from MECON, Ranchi, visited our institute on 8th April 2026 to explore possibilities for collaboration. They outlined a preliminary proposal focused on strengthening trainee skills through structured engagement. We welcomed the initiative, recognizing its potential to significantly benefit our trainees. The officials extended an invitation for a follow-up meeting at their office, and the interaction concluded on a positive and encouraging note.
Subsequently, we received a formal invitation to attend a meeting at MECON. Accordingly, on 10th April, Mr. Aloisious and I participated in the meeting, which was attended by the Managing Director, the Finance Manager, and representatives from around ten other training institutes. The session began with introductions from all participating institutes, followed by a detailed discussion on possible avenues of collaboration for trainee development.
The initiative, led by MECON in line with directives from the Ministry, aims at upskilling ITI trainees through short-term training programs and organized industrial visits. During the discussion, I proposed the provision of travel allowance (TA) for trainees attending the training programs. The suggestion was well received and taken into consideration for further deliberation.
The representatives were also provided with a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for review, with a request to share feedback and suggestions. The final structure of the collaboration will be determined after incorporating inputs from all participating institutes.
The meeting also offered a valuable opportunity to interact and network with representatives from other institutions. It concluded on a cordial note with tea and refreshments. Overall, the initiative appears promising, and I am keen to take this forward at the earliest for the benefit of our trainees.
